Not sure what problems anyone is having or why. I have this running on my ps3 and my iPhone.sure maybe a few things Arent available here in Canada but theres TONS of stuff to watch anyway plus go to the site and use the links for olivine and scripts for even more to watch.
The fabulous support staff are working for an update to the app for iOS 8
So be patient if you cant play videos. The other features still work wonderfully, much easier to navigate on my phone and cast to my roku or record via playlater.
Playon is a great app. Ive had it for years now. My only complaints are that there is no AppleTV app and that you have to have a Windows computer to act as your server. Yes you can use a Windows VM, but its laggy and you can use airplay to stream to your AppleTV, but these are work arounds and that keeps it from getting 5 stars. I dont understand the no AppleTV app, they have an iPhone app and an iPad app, why not add it to the TV lineup? I love ad skip, best feature of all.
Seamless integration with our Roku and IPhones; weve had no problems with connectivity as others have suggested. Great for my kids who use different viewing platforms. Excellent customer service! Thank you!!
Every since the new IOS 8 playon will not play.m it just kicks me out of the app. Please fix!!
This is one of my favorite Apps, but I broke it when I updated my phone, cant wait until you can get it working again so I can go back to watching my favorite programs on my phone. Thanks for this great App
Some bad moments
Even for free Im very unhappy with this app. Most shows Ive tried to watch say unable to view heres some you may enjoy being 4 min clips. The main thing that upsets me is 95% of the shows are not letting me view.
So disappointed. I have MacBook. So does it mean no Playon for me?
If more than 10% of the listed content actually worked in Canada. Software is pretty slick and easy to use...but the content...well....it just is not there (at least not yet). The worst part is it lists certain videos as being available, you click on it, wait for it to buffer only to get the dreaded "This video is not available in your geographic area".
2 Stars for effort...but we need to content to add more stars.
This review is about Playon itself not only about this app only. Playon is one of the worst software I spend money on, including play later. 90% of programs not available in Canada and the one available take 5-6 min to load. "Preparing the stream" will appear on the screen up to 5 min, then it will tell you this is not available in your area. "No content in this folder" another message. Wondering why this program is in the market!!
Unless they let us do everything from the ipad or iPhone or any other Mobile device this company will go no were no sorry they will go down I pay I upgrade to plus version $49.99 thinking I will get or do like they but unless i have a PC or Mac On them I can used mobile device is only good to record but even recordings take long.
If the developer some changes I know this app have a potential I hope they do something soon.
Requires a WINDOWS PC to work, making it less than useless for Mac users. Shame on you!
