I have been a long time user, and find that the setup and ease of use is the major draw of this.

I bought PlayOn a couple yrs ago and it never worked no matter what I did. I contacted their tech support (who are very prompt and helpful) and it just couldnt work correctly. I have all new devices and I have the most eXpensive Internet the cable company has, I pay $3oo a month so I know that it was not because of crap net most of you have. Recently o6/15 they updated PlayOn and now it FINALLY works. Bought time.

Horrible app. Neither the PC app or the iPhone app would ever work when it actually came to PLAYING a video. It barely worked to just navigate through either of them. At first everytime I tried to play something it would keep giving me a popup to upgrade, which I had already done. Then it stopped doing that and anytime I tried to play anything it would just sit on 100% loading for 10+ minutes until I finally had to shut it down myself every single time. And even if I was using the phone app the PC app would freeze and I would have to shut the whole thing down. I was super excited for this app, but Save your money-This app is the worst. The only positive is that the support team responds very quickly. I am currently waiting on them to refund my money. We will see how long that takes.

In our house, we use three Roku devices and have Playon install on our I-phones. Im happy to say that playon now works perfectly on all of these devices. In the past, Playon has had connectivity issues. I seriously believe that the root cause of those problems was lack of sufficient memory on the PC. It was right after we upgraded from 4G to 8G of ram on our PC that the connectivity/buffering issues went away. I especially like the Playon Picks channel and the scheduled recording. It all blends together seamlessly for our household. Thanks Playon!

If youre here deciding whether to choose plex or playon- go with playon!!! So easy to use and does everything for you. Love the service. Use it on my iPhone, laptop and have it streaming to my raspberry pi - anyone using a raspberry pi playon is 100x easier to setup than plex!! Reason enough right there lol
